My client, a leading manufacturer in specialty chemicals, are looking for an experienced Account Manager to support their rapidly growing team and product portfolio. This position will be responsible for developing long-term client relationships, and connecting with key stakeholders to expand existing business.
This role offers home office when not with customers, and requires travel to the Dรผsseldorf office once per month.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation and Prospecting: Generate and qualify leads with the support of Procurement and Marketing, using various channels such as internet leads, cold-calling, networking events, and trade shows.
- Sales Development: Develop sales to new and existing customers with an expanding product portfolio, including cross-selling to customers with potential for larger sales.
- Customer Interaction: Engage with customers in Europe through calls, presentations, travel, and digital platforms like webinars and video conferences.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain customer relationships, manage the Sales CRM pipeline proactively, and understand customer objectives, needs, and profitability drivers.
- Strategic Negotiation: Strategically negotiate with procurement & supply chain departments, understanding the market situation and industry needs of current accounts, prospects, competitors, and suppliers in the territory.
- Problem Solving and Collaboration: Collaborate with Customers & Internal Stakeholders on quality, technical & regulatory requirements to address challenges, introduce new products, and find suitable solutions for customer needs and challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in chemistry, engineering or similar STEM subject.
- Minimum 5 years sales experience in speciality chemicals
- Fluent English and one other European language (German Dutch or French ).
- Located in EU (ideally Germany, Netherlands or France)
