Location: Boston, MA
About Us:
A cutting-edge biotech company operating in stealth mode and focused on revolutionizing CAR-T cell therapies for solid tumors. By leveraging machine learning (ML) workflows and advanced gene-editing technologies, we aim to tackle some of the biggest challenges in immuno-oncology. Join us at the forefront of science, where innovation meets impact, as we develop next-generation therapies to transform patient outcomes.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Ph.D.-level Senior Scientist (flexible to Director) with a mixed wet and dry lab background to join our dynamic and collaborative team. The successful candidate will be pivotal in designing and optimizing CAR-T cell therapies using an interdisciplinary approach that integrates computational and experimental techniques. This role is ideal for a scientist passionate about cell therapies, with experience in ML workflows, gene-editing systems, and immunology.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to improve CAR-T cell efficacy, persistence, and safety in solid tumors, utilizing gene-editing technologies (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9, base editing, or similar).
Machine Learning Integration: Collaborate with computational scientists to incorporate ML workflows in analyzing datasets and optimizing gene-editing targets for CAR-T cells.
Wet Lab Contributions: Perform hands-on experiments, including T-cell culture, functional assays (cytotoxicity, cytokine secretion), flow cytometry, and genomic assays.
Data Analysis: Analyze multi-dimensional datasets (e.g., transcriptomics, proteomics, single-cell data) to identify potential pathways and targets for enhancing CAR-T cell therapies.
Innovation & Problem-Solving: Drive creative solutions to overcome immunosuppressive tumor microenvironments and antigen heterogeneity in solid tumors.
Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with immunologists, computational biologists, and synthetic biologists to advance research projects.
Scientific Communication: Present findings and contribute to internal publications, patents, and conferences.
Qualifications:
Education: Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Computational Biology, or a related field.
Experience:
2+ years of postdoctoral or industry experience in cell therapy, immuno-oncology, or related fields preferred.
Proven expertise in CAR-T cell engineering and/or gene-editing systems (e.g., CRISPR, TALEN, base editing).
Familiarity with machine learning techniques and their applications in biology is highly desirable.
Hands-on experience with T-cell assays, flow cytometry, and omics data analysis.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of immunology, particularly T-cell biology and tumor immunology.
Proficiency in wet lab techniques, including T-cell culture and functional assays.
Competency with computational tools for data analysis (e.g., Python, R, or similar).
